Lamson Litespeed Hard Alox II
This season Litespeed reels will adopt the ergonomic and structural improvements introduced on the 2011 Anniversary Series Litespeed. The spool profile has been flattened slightly and the handle moved outboard to keep knuckles away from moving parts; the drag knob has been redesigned for better grip. As with our other premium reels, pocket milling the spool face and integrating the counterbalance increases strength and stiffness without adding weight. Litespeed reels come in a close second to a corresponding Force reel in terms of retrieve rate and weight, and share our patented maintenance-free super smooth conical drag.

As the name implies, we created the Vanquish reel with just one thing in mind – total victory. And as the “form follows function” zealots we are, it all starts with the world’s smoothest, and now much larger and more powerful drag system. Delivering twice the torque of our previous salt water design, the Waterworks conical drag generates no stick-slip even at the line-snapping rates required by blue water anglers.
To support this kind of torque, a new, much stiffer frame was created — one that transmits extreme loads with a simple, efficient and graceful structure.
Vanquish 12 and 10 reels are available in a “closed face” version for those anglers who prefer only small porting on a rotating spool.

ULA Force SL
Force SL represents the world’s lightest full-drag true large arbor reel. The conical drag, first developed for this reel in 1996, allows the structure of the reel to maximize the large, wide line storage format pioneered by the Waterworks, without the mass of a disc-dedicated structure. The F2 SL can pick up line quickly, store it without coiling, provide a consistant drag torque and still weigh in at an incredible 3.25 oz.

The same, super-smooth, fully sealed conical drag system and stainless roller clutch used in our more expensive reels are matched with machined components and pressure cast ALDC12 aluminum alloy spool and frame. Konic is anodized then finished with a 100% solid polyurethane coating to resist gouging and abrasion. Affordable reels just got a whole lot better.

After more than two years of design, development and testing, we are pleased to introduce the F1TM – a large arbor series that is destined to revolutionize modern fly reel design. The F1 is a complete departure from conventional thinking and incorporates the most innovative features found in any fly reel. The drag system utilizes eight independent contact points to produce the smoothest and most dependable drag system on the market today. Two square inches of carbon fiber drag surface results in unsurpassed stopping power and heat dissipation. The spool fits on a carbon fiber stabilizer with two fully sealed stainless steel ball bearings that provide precision fit and smooth rotation. The F1 employs a Ross original clutch bearing that is fully sealed and enables retrieve conversion without removing the bearing- an industry first! The extensive use of carbon fiber in the drag system, spool stabilizer, handle and spool release produce system strength and rigidity, while at the same time reducing overall weight. Ten separate o-rings completely seal the system, making it totally impervious to the drag-changing effects of water. The F1 employs a constant-torque drag knob with a 56:1 mechanical advantage; resulting in uniform drag knob rotation and infinite drag adjustment.

The Vexsis defines modern Ross technology and is built around a powerful drag system consisting of Carbon Fiber, Rulon and Ceramic. The Carbon supports mechanical strength, infinite heat and fatigue resistance and shock-dampening. The Ceramic provides an incompressible heat resistant surface that maintains drag consistency. The CLA has set the standard for affordable large arbor fly reels. CLA 4-7 (Larger Components for Bigger Fish!)
